I would like to take a moment to welcome you to Deep Springs Baptist Church. Thanks for taking the time to visit our website. We are a Bible-believing church that is dedicated to loving God and loving people. If you’re looking for a church to call home, consider joining us in one of our worship services. We offer ministry to all ages.
The Bible offers the answers to life’s most pressing questions: Why am I here? Is there more to life than this? Does God have a plan for my life? Is it possible for me to have a personal relationship with the Creator of the Universe?
Jesus Christ makes it very clear that you are very important to God. Even the very hairs on your head are numbered (Matthew 10:30). In fact, you are so valuable to God that He sent His only begotten Son into the world so that you might have eternal life by believing in Him (John 3:16). If you’re reading this today and don’t have a personal relationship with Christ, I invite you to join me in prayer even now. The Bible says if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us of our sins, and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (I John 1:9). Confess to God and admit that you are a sinner in need of salvation. Jesus has promised that no one who honestly seeks a relationship with Him will be turned away (John 6:37). The invitation is to all, regardless of your background or past. The Bible says “whosoever” (that means YOU) calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved (Romans 10:13).
The modern world believes there are many ways to Heaven. The Bible declares there is only one Way. That Way is not a religion, it is a relationship with a Person; the Lord Jesus Christ (John 14:6). We can never do enough good works or penance to earn our way into the Kingdom of God. The Bible is very clear that salvation is through grace and not by human effort (Ephesians 2:8-9). Sometimes we preachers make things more complicated than they really are. I will quote from the Apostle Paul in his letter to the Romans:
Romans 10:9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. (NIV)
But making a profession of faith is just the beginning of the journey. God wants you to be an active part of His church. Each believer in Christ has been given a gift or ministry so that we might encourage and teach one another. As a matter of fact, the scriptures declare that God has a place for you to serve according to His pleasure (I Cor 12:18). We hope to see you soon in one of our worship services.
